In December 2019, sales of new MOTOR VEHICLES in Russia, based on registration data, grew by 0.3% year-on-year to 202 580 vehicles. In the whole year 2019 the total sales were 1 778 841 vehicles*, down 2.3% year-on-year, of which:
• Passenger cars – 176 410 units in December 2019, down 0.5% YOY; 1 567 743 units in January-December 2019, down 2.4 % YOY.
• Light commercial vehicles including light trucks (N1 category, without pickups) and minibuses (M2 category) – 12 356 units in December 2019, up 4.1% YOY; 104 224 units in January-December 2019, down 1.9% YOY.
• Pickups – 2 014 units in December 2019, up 16.4% YOY; 14 104 units in January-December 2019, down 2.4% YOY.
• Trucks (except N1 category), inclusive of special-purpose vehicles, – 10 028 units in December 2019, up 8.7% YOY; 78 807 units in January-December 2019, down 2.3% YOY.
• Buses (except М2 category) – 1 772 units in December 2019, down 2.9% YOY; 13 963 units in January-December 2019, up 5.2% YOY.
